Job Summary
The Security Lead will oversee and coordinate all security operations at AP. This role is critical to safeguarding personnel, assets, facilities, and operations against internal and external threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining a secure environment for business continuity.
Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols. Reviewing existing security measures and updating protocols as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits across company facilities, depots, and retail outlets.
- Lead incident response planning and coordinate investigations of security breaches, theft, vandalism, or other threats.
- Liaise with government agencies, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with national security regulations.
- Manage and supervise security personnel, contractors, and third-party security service providers.
- Oversee access control systems, surveillance equipment, and emergency communication protocols.
- Provide regular security reports and recommendations to GM QHSSE.
- Train employees on security awareness, emergency response, and crisis management.
- Monitor geopolitical, community, and environmental factors that may impact company operations.
- Ensure alignment of security practices with corporate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, sciences or related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in corporate or industrial security, with at least 5 years in a managerial/Supervisory role.
- Excellent knowledge of state and federal security laws.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian security landscape, including oil and gas sector challenges.
- Proven ability to manage security operations in high-risk environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with modern security technologies and systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
