Job Summary

The role holder is expected to supervise jobs done by Service Providers, give or seek for the required approvals for and ensure quality of repairs and maintenance at all times.

Job Details

  • Liaise with the HSE coordinator to ensure compliance to the company’s health, safety and security regulations and policies on all workshop and maintenance activities.
  • Support the Operations Support function to initiate and implement an efficient maintenance framework that will include replacement parts inventory, preventive, and corrective maintenance etc.
  • Implement a maintenance plan to ensure that the minimum company’s fleet uptime of 90% is achieved.
  • Efficient Maintenance Vendor contract management to ensure they deliver on agreed contract SLA.
  • Develop cost control and cost reduction initiatives to achieve company’s maintenance cost/km Target.
  • Responsible for monitoring and keeping records of all maintenance activities, truck details, repairs carried out, and spare parts used.
  • Liaise with the team to initiate and implement the maintenance procurement process for spares, materials, lubricants etc. and ensure quality parts are used to maintain the company assets.
  • Liaise with inventory function to monitor frequently used parts usage and re-order level for both fast moving and slow moving parts.
  • Responsible for correct diagnosing of vehicle problems and proper monitoring of repairs in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Focusing on prevention by keeping up with equipment maintenance and employee training
  • Ensure quality work and truck inspection to minimise truck recovery and repeat jobs.
  • Ensure team members undertake training in line with individual personal development plans.
  • Take part in accident / incident investigation and truck rescue.
  • Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
     

Requirements

Education

  • A degree or its equivalent with a minimum of a 2.2 in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)

Experience

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in retail petroleum/fuel station operations or engineering.
  • Working knowledge of safety, health, and environmental (HSE) protocols in petroleum retail environments.
  • Strong project management and contractor supervision skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and record-keeping systems.
