Job Summary

Safety Officers are responsible for implementing and enforcing safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of personnel and the facility.

Job Details

• Conduct safety inspections and audits of the facility and equipment.

 • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel. 

• Train staff on safety procedures, emergency response, and hazard identification. 

• Investigate incidents, near-misses, or unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions. 

• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. 

• Oversee fire safety systems, gas detection systems, and emergency evacuation drills.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education: Bachelor's degree or HND in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

Certifications: NEBOSH, HSE Level 3, or equivalent certifications. 

Experience: 2 to 4years of post NYSC Experience in industrial safety, preferably in the oil and gas sector. 

Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
